Tennis at Kona Village Resort offers a complete schedule of activities for you to enjoy. Whether you want to get some exercise in the Kona sunshine, find a match or sharpen up your game with one of our pros, you'll enjoy the fun and relaxing "aloha spirit" of tennis at Kona Village Resort. Usage of the tennis courts is complimentary.

Court Reservations

Courts are available from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. A reservation sign-up sheet is located at the Fitness Center Logo Shop and is available 24 hours in advance.

Daily Clinic

Each day one of our pros will host a half-hour clinic. Each clinic will focus on a particular shot or concept. Everyone is invited to participate. Over the years many of our guests have met great practice partners and developed lasting friendships as a result of meeting at our informal and fun clinic. Complimentary.

Daily Round Robin - Game Finding

Our daily round robin is a lot of fun and a great way to meet other tennis players. We usually play doubles (though we can arrange singles, too) while mixing and matching partners. Players who meet at the round robin often arrange their own games, or the Pro may suggest a good match-up. See the activities board for daily time. There is no sign-up needed. Complimentary.

Lessons

Lessons are a great way to get into the game, get back into the game or fine-tune that troublesome shot while having fun and getting vigorous exercise.

Equipment

Rackets are available at the courts. Balls are available at the courts, with practice balls and rackets being left at the courts after hours. No fees apply.

Courts: Our new courts are a special padded hard court called "Premier Courts". They are easy on the legs and play medium slow. No fees apply.

Court Rules

Players are required to wear tennis shoes. Other footwear such as cross trainers and running shoes are unacceptable. Tennis shoes are available at our Pro Shop.

Andy Klug, Tennis Pro at Kona Village Resort

Our Tennis Pro, Andy Klug, has been at Kona Village for fourteen years. He is formerly a top ranking player in Hawai`i in both singles and doubles. Our guests who are "serious" players enjoy drawing on his competitive knowledge to develop their games. Andy also has a reputation as a very patient and helpful teacher for new students and less experienced athletes. He welcomes all levels of players, from first timers to pros, to enjoy tennis at Kona Village.

Many of our return guests reserve lessons in advance of their stay to ensure that their desired time is available.
